Derek de Gannes is a Fatima alumni, matriculating out in 1975. He then furthered his studies at Anne Arundel Community College, receiving an Associated Degree in Architectural Technology in 1980.
Mr. de Gannes then entered the business world as an Assistant Valuation Surveyor, for G.A. Farrell & Associates, from 1981 to 1985. Academia called one more time, this time it was the University of Greenwich, England, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Estate Management in 1988.
He, again, re-entered the work force, this time in England, as a Surveyor for Stuart Edwards & Partners, Croydon, England where he spent two years. In 1990 he moved to the London Borough of Lewisham, England as a Senior Valuer, working there for the next seven years.
1998 saw his return to Trinidad and Tobago, when he re-joined G.A. Farrell & Associates as a Director of the company. Derek de Gannes left for a brief period in 1999, to work as a Property Manager for ANSA MC AL Ltd, but returned to G,A, Farrell & Associates, as a company Director, in 2000.
Derek de Gannes has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 1992.
